The Counselor Impostor
About Me: I’m your inner Counselor . . . now why don’t you go ahead and tell me how that made you feel?
I convince you that you can approach life and love as a clinical exercise, and don’t like the idea of actually participating in the beautiful and messy, emotionally charged experience that it really is.
I can give great advice to everyone else about what they need to be doing, but I don’t believe that others are capable of helping me out when I’m stuck and insist on either ignoring it or trying to chug through it alone.
I keep others at a distance and enjoy thinking about and rationalizing things more than living them, like your Authentic Soul wants for you. After all, things make a lot more sense when they can fit into definitions and boxes.
I value being in the company of others exactly as they are, today.
I cherish being in the moment with others to see what they can teach me as much as my own insights.
I love myself just the way I am, perceived imperfections and all.
